[Romans 8:28-39]

Church, let us love God and trust Him with all our hearts. He is for us and He desires to bless us-- He is the Blessing. Such joy and peace and love and freedom, everything is found in Him. Nothing can separate from the love of God that is found in Christ Jesus.

Also, if you have any fun and creative ideas for UCW to put this funding possibility to use, feel free to let me know!

Preterm Retreat!

The UCW preterm retreat starts tomorrow! From August 29 (Sunday) to 30 (Monday), a bunch of us will be at Voluntown, Connecticut, to regroup, shape our collective vision, discuss and plan this upcoming year, and lift up everything, our hearts to God.

We'll be leaving from HGS at 8:30 am on Sunday
and we plan to return on campus at around 2 pm the next day.

Please pray for a sweet time of fellowship and a united, productive and Spirit-led preparation time.

And preterm-ers, don't forget to bring your Bible, journal, sleeping bag/beddings, toiletries & towels and $40. Thank you!

Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed... Just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: "Be holy, because I am holy." - 1 Peter 1:13-16

Pre-term Retreat, Fall Godpods

1. Preterm sign-ups! That's August 29-30 (Sun-Mon) with re-grouping, planning, and praying, all with fun and grace. If you're curious who's signed up so far, it's Andrea Sohn, Bianca Yuh, Brian Jang, Elizabeth Kim, Emily Chen, Karmen Cheung, Megan Lee, Sarah Park, Stephen Kim, Susie Park, and Pastor Jeff Kraines (any names missing?). Sign-ups continuing.

2. Godpods sign-ups are now open! What are Godpods? Godpods are small groups of men and women who come together once a week for 1.5-2 hours to experience the fellowship of the body in a more close-knit setting. We share and pray for one another, study the Word together and encourage each other to apply the week's sermon to our lives. Of course, Godpods also have fun get-togethers. We'd like to gather sign-ups now to be able to see how much interest we have to determine the number of Godpods.

So please please sign up now! Time and place will be up to each Godpod (in the past, many happened to meet on Fridays after dinner), but do keep in mind that this is a commitment-- Godpod is not only a weekly schedule but a place where friends come to share joys and burdens and to confess, to pour into trusting and caring relationship-- so consistency and sincerity are important, as are love and eagerness. By no means am I trying to discourage anyone from signing up, but just trying to make sure that everyone understands this about Godpods. Godpod is an indispensable part of living out church, so I hope most all of you sign up!

Thank you and may God dwell in you richly today and tomorrow!

Praise God,
Susie
